Sporttrade Odds API

Sporttrade is a licensed US betting exchange rather than a sportsbook. Users trade positions against each other, which means its price reflects what two parties are willing to take rather than a margin a book has set. In this feed it appears under the same oddID as every sportsbook, so putting the two kinds of price next to each other is one request.

It is a small book by market count — 76 markets across 7 leagues — so it is a reference price rather than a primary source. That is usually the point of carrying an exchange.

What Sporttrade coverage looks like

Basketball leads by a clear margin. The NBA is 44 of its 76 markets, followed by MLB at 32 and the NFL at 18. The WNBA is 12, and NCAAF, the NHL and NCAAB are 6 each.

By type the split is unusual: 52 player props, 6 of the 16 main markets, 18 period splits, and zero team props and zero game props. Nothing in between the main lines and the player markets.

Where it concentrates

Player props are two-thirds of the board. Assists, player score, hits, steals, receiving yards, passing completions and passing touchdowns all appear, each at two markets, in over/under and yes/no form where the market supports it. Its prop board is flat rather than concentrated — no one category runs deeper than the others.

Main and period markets make up the rest. Moneyline, spread and over/under at full game, plus first-half spread and over/under, and the baseball first-five-innings moneyline, spread and total. These are the markets an exchange can run a liquid book on, which is why they are the ones present.

The absence of team and game props is the cleanest way to describe it: if the market is not either a headline line, a standard period split, or a named player's statistic, Sporttrade is not pricing it.

It also does not carry any soccer. Seven leagues, all North American.

Which plan includes Sporttrade

Sporttrade is available on the Rookie plan and above. The free Amateur tier carries nine books and Sporttrade is not one of them, so a request filtered to sporttrade on the free plan comes back empty rather than erroring. Rookie and Pro both include a 7-day free trial; a card is required at signup and you can cancel any time before it ends. Pricing has the book list for each tier.

What a Sporttrade price looks like

The exchange price sitting between fairOdds and the sportsbook price is the typical pattern. fairOdds is the vig-free consensus across every book pricing the market, bookOdds keeps the margin in, and the gap between a book and an exchange on the same line is roughly the margin the book is charging.

Sporttrade, Novig and Prophet Exchange

We carry three US exchanges and they are not interchangeable.

Novig is the broadest at 238 markets across 18 leagues, including European soccer. Prophet Exchange is the most prop-concentrated at 192 markets with 152 of them player props, weighted to MLB. Sporttrade is the smallest at 76 markets but the most NBA-weighted, with basketball making up well over half its board.

If you want one exchange, Novig covers the most ground. If you are building NBA tooling specifically, Sporttrade is the one whose depth is pointed at it.

Use cases for Sporttrade data

For positive EV betting, an exchange price is a cross-check on a fair-value estimate, because it is set by two sides agreeing rather than by a book pricing in margin.

For arbitrage, exchange-versus-sportsbook is a distinct scan from book-versus-book. Books watch each other; an exchange does not price the same way.

For NBA analysis, it is a second non-sportsbook opinion on the league where it carries most of its coverage.

Coverage, honestly

Sporttrade is small and narrow. Seven North American leagues, no soccer, no team or game props, and 76 markets in total. Read byBookmaker on each odd rather than assuming it is there — on most markets it will not be. Treat its absence as normal rather than as an error. The /markets endpoint returns the supported set by league if you would rather check before requesting odds.
